About Me

I have been fascinated by computers since I was a child. My first taste of "process optimization" came at age twelve, when my father let me use his computer system to organize a student survey — and record the results. Even then, the fascination was the same as today: using technology to make work easier, not more complicated.

A few years later, as the PC era began, it was small and medium-sized companies whose business processes I optimized — with customized networks and tailor-made applications. While others sold boxes, I asked what the company actually needed to run better. That question has driven my work ever since.

I still remember one situation from my thirties vividly: I was told about the enormous effort required to manually consolidate data scattered across different departments, just to produce the key figures management needed. What looked like a technical problem turned out to be something else entirely — unclear goals and a lack of appreciation within the project. Once I understood those real causes, I was able to set clear goals, align my work with them, and contribute significantly to the project's success.

That lesson shapes my consulting today: technology is rarely the root cause — unclear goals and unowned processes are. Many mid-sized companies are overwhelmed by the sheer abundance of IT products and services, and end up paying too much for tools that support their processes poorly. I help my clients see through that complexity: optimizing processes first, selecting the right technology second, and completing the architectural work in between.
